I've been a bit perturbed with life at work lately. (Just in case none of you have noticed my pissy attitude.) But, last Friday, I asked for Tuesday off so that I could take Little Kid to his BGF's (best girl friend) birthday party.
My boss said it was fine, but to clear it with one of the women at my particular branch. She told me no, handed me a stack of 50 reports to muddle through and then took the rest of the afternoon off. Her reasoning was that my back up would be out all week and they couldn't spare me. *eye roll* I made several comments about how I didn't have a back up... blah blah blah.
I was livid. So, I went and got the teller that is supposedly my "back up" and drug her outside with me to vent. Included in the conversation was a comment from me about "I'll just call in sick Tuesday." I was pretty serious at the time, but I really don't have the nerve to blatantly lie to anyone especially the hand that feeds me.
On Saturday, I noticed a bug bite on my leg and another on my hip. It itched a bit, but I live in mosquito country and didn't think much else about it until Monday when they looked like huge spider bites and were changing from a red to blue color.
Crap.
This morning I woke up and could not move my head from one side to another. It's like a really bad crick in my neck. The muscles felt like rocks down the right side and to move it sends lightning bolts of pain down my spine.
Crap. I have to call in. It's Tuesday. They'll never believe me.
I ended up at the doctor's office getting a shot for what may or may not be related to the bites that the doctor could not identify. He sent me home with 4 prescriptions that include Prednisone. That is a whole 'nother blog post that I'll save for later though.
Anyway. I'm in pain. May actually take tomorrow off as well. Thanks for the love earlier. I needed it and for you guys that are still getting with the blogging lingo, I'm going to do a post for you soon, I promise. To share what I've learned over the last 6 months. It's blogging for dummies and I'm not promising that it's the best way to do things, but whatever. It works.

You know what they say about Karma...
This has so happened to me before...with an allergic reaction when I called in sick to the Gap (would you like socks to match?) to go to Disneyland.
AH!
I don't know what the deal is with weird bug bites lately. I had one on my shoulder blade two weeks ago. I found it on Memorial Day, and it looked like a mosquito bite, except bigger...and it felt like a hard knot under my skin.
I had a nurse look at it, and she told me some stuff to look out for, in case it was a poisonous spider bite.
It stayed for about a week, but none of the warning signs of spider bite showed up.
Anyway, I think there's something in the water!
But really, I'm sorry you're in pain. Feel better!
I very well might take up your suggestion to start a separate blog for my crime stories.
Oh my goodness. How are you feeling today?
You know how you feel about dentists? That's how I feel about bugs.
Yuck.
Hope you feel better soon! I am on the pred as well and feeling much better.
Oh, no! How are you feeling today???? I hope BETTER! Yikes.
Yikes. I hope you are feeling better soon. I've learned with work stuff, it's just best not to vent to anyone...they all talk, even the ones you think are your friends. Don't sweat the feedburner subscription count...they are merging with something this week and the stats are all wonky.
Oh no!! I hope you're feeling better soon. That's scary that you reacted that severely.
Dude! Scary bug bites?! Hope you are feeling better. I had an allergie reaction awhile back to penicillin and they gave me Prednisone. I didn't sleep for a week.
